Now, I know we’re really in a deep global financial mess. This past Monday the Nobel Foundation announced it will reduce this year’s monetary award by one-fifth. The Stockholm-based organization declared that the prize money will drop from 10 million Swedish krona to 8 million, or from $1.4 million to $1.2 million. As fate would have it, Nobel has made some bad investments in recent years and they have to stretch their budget to cover operating costs.
