In Memoriam: Hostess Snack Foods, 1930 – 2012

Who would’ve thought Twinkies would go extinct before polar bears?!  And, what a shame, too!  Just when Maryland and Washington pass marijuana laws!  Now, I read that Grupo Bimbo, a Mexican food company, may try to buy out Hostess.  Oh dear God!  The Chinese own our banks, and now Mexicans are trying to buy our snack foods!  I don’t recognize my country anymore!

  1. Honestly, I can’t say I’ll miss the Twinkie. Haven’t eaten one in years. But nothing better happen to my Dairy Queen…

  2. I haven’t eaten a Twinkie in years either. The last time I could barely finish it and ended up throwing away the rest of them. There are some strange chemicals in those things, too! They really could last for centuries, if not eons. I mean, the ancient Mayans left their calendar, and the Romans left their aqueducts. I hate to think that future archeologists will measure us by the Twinkies and plastic bottles we left behind.
