  1. I had the strangest response to this quote. I thought, what’s the point? See, lately I’ve been thinking that from a biological perspective, humans are an invasive species that the earth can no longer support. And since we don’t seem to get that, we are, in effect, ensuring our demise.

    • I understand what you’re saying, Jen. But then, we never really know what will happen in the future. Caring for the environment, for example, isn’t so much for our own sake, but for that of future generations. Why should we deny them the pleasure of clean water and air? Evangelical Christians seem to believe that – since the end of the world is always just around the corner – it doesn’t matter if we destroy the planet. But smart and compassionate people like us aren’t bound to such rigid rules.

Indeed, humans have become too much of a burden for this world. That’s why population control is essential. I don’t care what religious leaders or social conservatives say! We can’t keep populating at the extent we are. I truly believe the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is just a precursor of what lurks in the world’s immediate future. I’m certain a more lethal virological scourge will devastate the planet soon. As awful as it sounds, I feel that may be what the Earth needs right now. There are just too many people!
