Shyness is so much about fear of other people’s negative judgement.
Yes, it is! I wasted much of my life – even into adulthood – trying to make sure others were happy with me and thus sacrificing my own dignity and self-esteem.
You were on a journey, Alejandro. Without the past, you would not be where you are now.
There was a writer here in the U.S. named Leo Buscaglia who was popular throughout the 1980s and into the 90s. My parents loved him. Some 40 or so years ago he said you can’t do anything about the past; it brought you to where you are now.
Worrying about the past was another vice of mine! I had to learn to let go of that, too.
Another part of your journey. Leo Buscaglia was wise. I have not heard of him so I will look him up. In what kind of genre did he publish?
Buscaglia was primarily an educator, but served as a motivational speaker and something of a philosopher. He was moved to examine the human condition more closely after one of his students committed suicide in 1969. He was very inspirational and was quite a character when speaking!
